Charles Yu's book of short stories is a phenomenal read. Charles Yu is an amazing author who uses his personal experiences, pop culture science fiction and his obsession with metaphysics to communicate to his readers through intricate story lines that have you flipping through each page with excitement. In each short story Charles Yu reveals a piece of his identity that his readers can relate to. My favorite short stories are Hero Absorbs Major Damage, and Adult Contemporary. Hero Absorbs Major Damage is a short story about the life of a character in a Massively Multi-Player Online Game and his gang of misfits and his struggles with self doubt and the meaning of being a true hero. Adult Contemporary is a short story about Murray and his purchase of a particular lifestyle named "The Brad" where he can experience life in all the ways he failed to do as Murray.
